Pediatric Therapy

Pediatric Therapy

From infants to young adults, Reid's Children's Therapy Services addresses every area of your child's development - physical, emotional, social and language. Through active play and one-to-one training, we help your child to reach his or her top potential as they storm a fort, climb a mountain, swing from the rafters, take a ride on a zip line rock climb and jump in a ball pit. Each activity is fun and games for them, but our therapists are working hard to help each child grow stronger in their overall development.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists evaluate and treat infants, children and young adults with neurological, orthopedic or developmental delay problems. They look for and address:

  • Gross motor skills and mobility
  • Balance, coordination and motor planning skills
  • Muscle tone, strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness
  • Pain relief and rehab following surgery
  • Bracing and specialized adaptive equipment

In addition, our facility includes a state-of-the-art aquatic therapy pool and our MASS system, which provides partial support for body weight.  The MASS system may be incorporated into a custom treatment plan to help increase your child's ability to move independently during therapies.

Occupational Therapy

A child's occupation is to grow and play. Our occupational therapists guide children to reach their maximum potential and independence in all areas, including fine motor skills (handwriting, tying shoes or buttoning a shirt), self-care skills, oral motor and feeding habits and sensory processing skills.

Speech-Language Pathology

Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) identify and treat speech and language disorders such as articulation concerns, "late" talking and other language learning problems. We assess and treat each child's communication skills and teach parents strategies to help their children communicate better at home and in the community.

Nutrition & Exercise

Your child's nutrition and eating patterns are vital to overall growth and development. We'll help you find the right foods that will have even the pickiest of eaters eating healthy and growing strong. We can also provide you with tips that can get your child up and moving for that much needed daily exercise, as well as discuss which foods you should avoid or only give your child in moderation. We can also help you assess what is a healthy weight for your child and provide you with information on how you can promote overall healthy behaviors in your home.  We also have a special program, STOP, to help school-aged children and adolescents who are struggling with weight management live healthier, more active lifestyles.

Early Intervention

Our pediatric therapists are also specialists in early intervention. From birth to age 5, children develop at an accelerated rate. Problems during this period can have long-term effects on the child's development. Our therapists have undergone and continue to undergo extensive, additional training to stay on the cutting edge of treating these young patients. Children respond faster and with much less difficulty when developmental problems are identified at an early age. Often, children will see multiple therapists.  Our  team approach identifies children who are falling behind the normal developmental milestones. Depending on the child's age, the therapists will assess functions like crawling, walking, hand-eye coordination, communication, feeding, social interaction and play skills to determine developmental status.

For more information on our pediatric therapy and early intervention services, please feel free to contact us or call one of our outpatient rehab locations: Richmond (765) 983-3092 or Eaton (937) 456-1195.

Vascular Screening

This screening is quick and easy and costs just $49. Anyone who is over 50, or has a family history of stroke or heart disease should consider this screening.
