Geropsychiatric
Becoming aware of and understanding how the aging process can affect a person's mental health is an important step of the healing process. Our geropsychiatric unit combines a safe environment, a structured and supportive social setting and intense psychiatric and psychological therapeutic intervention to help seniors achieve their optimal level of functioning. Our 30-bed facility provides intensive treatment for the elderly who suffer from acute psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairment and age-related physiological disabilities. People in acute psychiatric crisis urgently require a safe environment, a structured and supportive social setting and intensive psychiatric and physiological therapeutic intervention. Treatment options include a "Snoezelen" room, providing sensory stimulation in dementia patients.
