Reid Psychiatric Services: Providing compassion, hope and respect

Reid offers inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services for adults and seniors, including helping with issues such as addictions, dementia, depression and other emotional/behavioural problems. We are committed to helping patients obtain the highest quality of life possible.

Our team includes psychiatrists, licensed social workers, ceftified nurses and others who are dedicated to the mission of wholeness, body, mind and spirit.

For more details about specific services:

  • Adult Psychiatric Unit - Inpatient crisis stabilization
  • Consult - Liaison Psychiatric Services provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment to medically ill patients on medical and surgical units 
  • Geropsychiatric Unit - Provides inpatient services for senior patients suffering from emotional and psychological distress 
  • Outpatient Psychiatric Services - Serves adults 18 and older whose emotional and psychological needs can be met appropriately in an outpatient setting 
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) - A modernized and effective treatment that is administered under general anesthesia for people with severe or treatment-resistant depression, as well as other hard-to-treat mental health diagnoses 
  • Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS) - A new treatment approved by the Federal Drug Administration in August 2005 for treatment-resistant depression
