Four anesthesiologists recently joined the Reid Hospital & Health Care Services medical staff.
Balakrishna Bangalore, M.D., is a graduate Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and served his internship in preliminary surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
He completed his internship for family practice at the University of Oklahoma Family Medicine Clinic of Tulsa. His residency in anesthesiology was served at the John Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. He joined Reid as a general anesthesiologist.
Alan and Heidi Sarabia, both M.Ds., married while at, and graduated from, the American University of the Caribbean. Alan spent the first phase of his residency at the University of Rochester Hospital, Rochester, New York. The pair completed residency at Penn State University’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Both are members of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Heidi’s bachelor’s degree from Cornell is in religious studies and anthropology. Alan majored in Spanish, in which he is fluent, and minored in plant pathology at Kansas State University.
Merlyn J. Malola, M.D., earned her pre-medical and medical degrees at the University of Damascus in Syria. She completed her primary care internship at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, and her primary care residency at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She is board-certified in anesthesia.
