Her
support of Reid events, cited by one nominator as just one aspect of an
outstanding attitude, figured in the calling of Casey McPherson to the
September Ambassadorship at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.
McPherson,
a massage therapist since joining the Reid team three years ago, most recently
lent her energy to the Reid Ride and the Busting Out in Pink party, a
nomination noted.
"Casey
always has a kind word to say and never passes you in the hallway without
making eye contact, smiling and asking how your day is going," added a
colleague's testimonial.
"She
has a giving heart and wants to make the world a better place," said a
co-worker of the Richmond resident. "Casey always jumps in to lend a helping
hand without having to be asked."
"Reid's
philosophy fits with my vision of what it takes to promote healing," McPherson
said of her work at Reid. "I'm grateful to work at a top-rated facility that
understands the value massage therapy can provide patients, employees and the
community."
A
therapy client characterized McPherson as wonderful, conscientious and
intuitively adept at blending conversation and silence during treatments. A
parallel judgment found her helpful, cheerful, highly skilled and
compassionate.
A
2007 graduate of the S.H.I. Integrative Medical Massage School in Lebanon,
Ohio, McPherson has a son, Matthew, 20, a student at IU Bloomington.
McPherson,
who lists family time, reading and gardening as her favorite things, also rates
the satisfaction of her work at Reid highly.
"My
co-workers are caring and supportive, and I feel lucky to spend my days with
them," she writes. "Massage therapy allows me to help and connect with people
on a level not always possible in this busy world."
