Outstanding talents for communication
and coordination keyed the selection of Tanja Carroll as October Ambassador of
the Month at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.
Additionally, noted her nominators, she
brings to her job as a social worker on the Adult Psychiatry unit compassion,
calm and an ability to put people at ease.
"Tanja is truly an outstanding social
worker," wrote one of her colleagues. "She unfailingly displays compassion for
all our patients, at all times."
"She has good communication skills and
is excellent in coordinating the comprehensive level of care our patients
require," said another salute to the Richmond resident.
Originally of Palm Bay, Fla., Carroll
moved to Richmond from Fort Ashby, W.Va., Her education includes an associate's
in teaching physical education, a bachelor's in social work from West Virginia
University and a master's in social work from IUPUI.
She joined Reid in July of 2006 and
worked four years as a discharge planner in Patient Resource Services before
moving to Adult Psych.
"Tanja is very efficient at her job,
even when things get busy, which is most of the time here," a co-worker said.
"When Tanja says that she will get something done, you can count on it getting
done in a professional manner."
"I enjoy working at Reid because of
all the great people I work with, from patients to visitors and employees,"
Ambassador Carroll writes. "To be able to touch helpfully the life of another
is a great thing, and that is an opportunity you get at Reid."
Carroll also enjoys participating in
charity events and keeps as many as she can in her schedule.
"She takes on extra assignments
without complaint and brings a lot of good ideas to the department," summed up
an admiring nomination.
