Mary Ropp, a Reid Volunteer
since 1996, has been acclaimed December's Volunteer of the Month.
"Mary goes above and beyond to help everyone,"
wrote a nominator of her Information Desk work. "She truly represents Reid's
C.A.R.E. standards."
"I have watched her trying to
make every visitor and guest feel as comfortable as possible," said a colleague
of the Richmond resident. "Mary has such a pleasant personality and is always
such a help to our patients and guests."
Ropp, retired after a 40-year
career with Knowles Tools, Inc., is a member of Seton Catholic Church and
supports its programs as a volunteer.
"Mary is an absolute pleasure
to be around and always has a smile on her face," said a fellow worker on the
Information Desk beat. "She is always willing to assist with any task."
"Her positive attitude is
contagious, and Reid is blessed to have her at the Information Desk," summed up
another Reid team member.
Ropp's family includes a daughter, a son, four
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
While family time is a top
priority, travel remains a favored recreation.
"I'm grateful that I am seen
by others in this way," Ropp said of her award. "I'm surprised, and honored, to
receive this recognition."
