With humor and care, February's ambassador has served
Reid Hospital for over 30 years. Every nomination for Joe Vance cited his sense
of humor and his care in getting a job done correctly. Vance has spent his
entire career at Reid in the Engineering department where he assists with heating,
ventilating and air conditioning requests.
Nominations from department co-workers said, "He is
always one of the first to jump in and help with whatever is needed."
"Joe is always willing to go the extra mile with a smile,"
added another. "He is always looking for ways to help with patient needs or the
needs of visitors."
A manager summed up Vance's qualifications for an
Ambassador title: "He not only brings excellent C.A.R.E. principles to work
with him every day, but he brings a sense of laughter and humor which makes
people enjoy working with him."
Originally from Ashtabula, OH, Vance grew up in the
Centerville area and graduated from Centerville High School. He now lives near
Fountain City with Naomi, his wife of 40 years, who also works at Reid for Dell
Services. The Vances are the parents of two sons, William and Robert, and
grandparents to four grandchildren, ages 6 to 9. They enjoy spending their time
away from Reid getting together with family and friends.
"I enjoy my job and my co-workers because everyone is
friendly," said Vance. "They make coming to work fun."
