February's
Volunteer of the month has served in the Ginkgo Boutique since 2006. Paula
Dunaway, has logged more than 2000 hours as a volunteer at Reid Hospital.
Dunaway
assists in the Boutique with inventory control, checking in new items, training
other volunteers, stocking the shelves and helping with store displays.
"Paula has excellent customer service skills
and is very helpful to fellow volunteers," said one nominator. "Paula is always
willing to do anything we need and I appreciate each day she is here."
Another supporter shared, "She
is always reliable and courteous to others. Paula has truly been a blessing to
everyone in the gift shop and we appreciate her dedication and hard work. We
are very fortunate to have her as a Reid volunteer."
Dunaway's
other volunteer work includes serving with RSVP, visiting area nursing home
patients and assisting a widowed person's group with newsletter mailings. She is
also a member of VFW post 1108 Ladies Auxiliary.
Dunaway
and her late husband owned a salvage yard in Dublin for 12 years. She also
worked at Friend Fellowship Community and managed an Avon business for 15
years.
Dunaway
enjoys sewing, crocheting and crafts. She also likes to spend time with her
three children and four grandchildren.
"I
am very surprised and honored," Dunaway said. "I enjoy working in the gift shop
and the fellowship with others."
