The June ambassador, Misti Foust, has earned the respect of not only her peers, but the respect of physicians as well notes one of her nominators. Although a New Paris native, Misti came to Reid three and a half years ago from the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. While there she also served on the trauma support teams for NASA at Cape Canaveral and the Daytona Speedway.
Misti serves Reid on the Critical Care Unit as an open heart recovery nurse and was recently honored with a Nursing Excellence Award.
“Misti is always smiling, helping someone or praising a co-worker,” said one nominator. A co-worker said, “She is a very caring and thoughtful nurse who always puts her patient’s needs first.” Her caring also shows in her volunteer work with the Hispanic Wesleyan Health endeavor.
Misti has three children: a daughter, Morghan (13) and sons, Raedhyn (8) and Sabhyr (5). They share their home in Richmond with canine family members, Roxie (a Bichon Frise) and Calvin (a chocolate Labrador). Their household will expand in November when Misti and her fiancé, Aaron Cofield, are married.
A sports enthusiast, Misti enjoys playing volleyball and cornhole, bike riding and sport fishing. She stays busy watching and shuttling her children to baseball, volleyball, football and soccer games. Her family are also huge fans of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State University Bucks.
While honored to be named the June Ambassador, Misti shares the tribute with her co-workers. “The people I work with are passionate about improving the lives of those we serve, our patients,” Misti said.
