Innovative dry needling therapy brings ‘incredible’ pain relief (4-22-2014)
David Campbell injured his back at work in 2010. Since then, he’s had two spine surgeries and multiple epidural steroid injections, gone to physical therapy, done stretching exercises, taken pain medication and kept his weight at a healthy level. Despite all that, pain was making it almost impossible for David to function.

Free cancer screening April 22 to accept walk-ins (4-21-2014)
Organizers of a free oral, head and neck cancer screening scheduled Tuesday, April 22, say there is still room for walk-ins provided attendees don’t mind perhaps having to wait for an open spot.

Reid hosts presentation about healthy spirituality April 21 (4-18-2014)
Community members are invited to a presentation about spiritual well-being on Monday, April 21, from noon to 1 p.m. Presenter Jon Hudnall, Reid chaplain, will help participants understand the importance of spiritual balance and how to achieve it in their lives.

Reid, Indiana University East and Ivy Tech Community College are collaborating to offer a health careers camp June 26 for high school students in the region. The free, one-day session will be offered with job shadowing opportunities in both Nursing and Allied Health careers.

Reid tops Consumer Reports safety score report (4-8-2014)
Reid is one of the two Indiana hospitals that received the highest “safety score” in the state and is in the top two percent nationally in a review by Consumer Reports of hospital safety released recently.

Free prostate screening event April 9 at county clinic (4-2-2014)
Reid Oncology Services is sponsoring a free prostate screening event at the Wayne County Health Clinic from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. The clinic is at 203 East Main in Richmond.

Reid Launches Long-Term Follow-Up Program for Cancer Survivors (4-1-2014)
A new program at Reid Oncology Associates is helping cancer survivors take charge of their health. Called “Living Through Cancer,” the program is led by Tamika Turner, a family nurse practitioner specializing in oncology. Any patient who has completed cancer treatment is eligible to participate, regardless of where they received their cancer treatment.
