Trailing clouds of accolades, December’s Ambassador assumes her duties with endorsements gathered in her progression from Rehabilitation Services through Leeds 7 to Patient Financial Services.
Liz DeLong, a resident of the Centerville area, joined Reid Hospital & Health Care Services more than two years ago bringing, according to co-workers, a perpetual smile, a readiness to help out and the talent to make everyone feel special.
Noted a colleague during DeLong’s term on Leeds 7, “She is a hard worker and very caring to everyone.”
“We were so blessed when Liz moved to Leeds 7,” wrote one nominator. “She had exactly what it takes to make sure that our patients had a ‘Wow!’ experience.”
A further judgment ran: “Liz would be my choice for a ‘poster person’ to promote the attitudes we prize here.”
“She uses the C.A.R.E standards in everything she does and is always willing to help,” reports a colleague in Patient Financial Services. Adds another, “It’s obvious that she is a real asset to the Reid team. She is enthusiastic, always smiles and is a positive influence.”
Originally of Indianapolis, DeLong graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1980 and in 1982 as a medical assistant from the Professional Careers Institute.
“Working at Reid Hospital is such a great experience,” DeLong writes. “Every day I come in contact with people who have touched a life in one way or another. The passion, love, care and commitment that Reid employees show is amazing. I feel so fortunate to work at such a wonderful place.”
She and her husband, Dave, an employee of Professional Staff Management, have two daughters, Darcy and Denise, respectively a senior and a sophomore at Centerville High School.
They are active in the Centerville Christian Church.
