Therapist proclaimed December Ambassador

Mary AlexanderOne of the respiratory therapists often requested by patients, December’s Ambassador of the Month at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services also found endorsement as an exemplar, trainer and resource.

Haley Spears, a Reid team member since October 2004, had previously worked a year as a student at the Middletown, Ohio, Regional Hospital before coming to Reid.

“Haley always does a fantastic job of caring for her patients,” wrote one colleague. “She is knowledgeable and kind, the sort of person in whom Reid and everyone who knows her takes pride.”

Wrote another nominator, “Haley is always pleasant and professional; she is an outstanding and crucial member of the respiratory team.”

“Haley has received high praise for her involvement with orientation for Ivy Tech students,” noted one nomination. “She also plays an important role in orienting new employees; Haley is a role model for respiratory therapy.”

“She is always cheerful, volunteers to help others and displays a confident and caring talent,” summed up another admirer of the Centerville-area resident.

Originally of Continental, Ohio, and a 2004 graduate of Kettering College of Medical Arts, Spears notes, “I’m proud to be a part of the team here at Reid. It takes everyone working together to ensure our patients get the best care.”

Spears and her husband, Jeremy, an extruder die manager at Nixon Tool in Richmond, attend St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Cambridge City. They are expecting their first child in March.
