Navy vet honored as November Ambassador

Cindy DyeNovember’s Ambassador for Reid Hospital & Health Care Services drew nominations from four departments and three physicians for her inspirational work in Wound Healing Services.

Cindy Dye, RN, a Winchester resident and a Navy veteran, was cited by one nominator for the exemplary manner in which she deploys her extraordinary knowledge to make her patients comfortable.

“She is always on-task but never too busy to smile, laugh or care,” wrote another nominator. “She makes her patients feel special; Cindy is always enthusiastic and up for any challenge that will improve patient care or assist the physicians.”

“She goes above and beyond her duties as a case manager, and is one of the most talented nurses I’ve ever worked with,” writes an appreciative colleague. Added another, “You can depend on her to be there when you need someone to help.”

“Cindy has a great personality and is a pleasure to work with,” judges an observant RN. “She is a leader devoted to quality care and is respectful of her clients.”

“Cindy is a person who is straight forward in her approach to patient care – only the best will do,” summed up one admirer of the eight-year Reid team member. “She is fun to work with and brings light to every room she enters.”

Dye, originally of San Francisco, took to nursing during her service in the Navy, leaving as an LPN. She is completing her BSN at Indiana Wesleyan. She and her husband, David, a process engineer with Elevator Equipment Corp., Richmond, are parents of Jonathon, 13.
