Brenna
Lynch, a Reid team member for 32 years, has been designated Ambassador for the
Month of May.
One nominator reflected that Lynch, a Lab tech, was one of those essential folk that everyone simply assumes has served as an ambassador. Once that was cleared up, four additional departments and an outside vendor produced a considerable literature devoted to her virtues.
"I strongly feel that she deserves this honor for her patience under fire," opined another nominator, citing Lynch's positive attitude toward major change and her kind and caring presence.
Wrote a Lab supervisor. "She makes important contributions to our laboratory operations and took an important role in making our computer system upgrade a success. Had she not been on the team, it could not have been accomplished in the time frame it was."
Other comments make it clear her C.A.R.E. principles are hardwired.
"Brenna is a great example of what a positive and caring attitude can do for the workplace," wrote one admirer. "She always has care and concern for others and gives every situation her all. She truly is a wonderful example of what Reid is really about."
Wrote another department head: "Even when very ill herself, she continued her labors, long hours and positive attitude to bring the new Cerner upgrade system on board for Reid Hospital and staff."
"Brenna just doesn't give up until the problem is solved," averred another. "No matter how frustrating it gets, she is always pleasant."
Lynch, a once and present resident of the Fountain City area, has followed her 1976 Ivy Tech lab certification with, in 1995, that institution's associate degree in applied science. Two years ago, after three years on second shift and 27 on first, she took up the service of the Lab's computer system.
"My reaction when I was hired as part of the Reid Memorial Hospital staff 32 years ago was pride," recalls Lynch. "I was so proud to be part of the Reid team; I am still proud to be part of Reid Hospital & Health Care Services."
Through the years of raising three children and indulging three grandchildren, Lynch has remained so: "Proud to look at the campus and see beauty, proud to look in the buildings and find everything clean and well-maintained . . . proud to know that every Reid employee I've met over that last 32 years has wanted the best for the patient, their co-workers and Reid."
She and her husband, Dale, an independent trucker, attend the Fountain City Wesleyan Church and are active in the Children's Ministry there.
