Roberta McIntoshNotwithstanding tending to her collection of 170 tea pots, the August Volunteer of the Month at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services has contributed more than 1,100 hours of service in a bit more than three years.

Roberta McIntosh, a 2001 retiree from Fowler Wholesale where she started in 1954, drew praise from nominators citing her sweet and friendly nature.

“Roberta has blossomed since joining the Reid family,” noted one writer. “She’s gone from being a very shy lady to one who confidently gives directions and escorts visitors and families where they need to go.”

Her citation affirms of McIntosh: “She is willing to help with any variety of projects as well as to sub for others. We know if Roberta is here, we will have a good day. She is flexible with her time and volunteers both at the Information Desk and in the Gift Shop.”

McIntosh, an avid reader, also volunteers in the Community Food Bank at her church, Faith Trinity Methodist.

She and Earl, her husband of 47 years, have a son, a daughter and three grandchildren.
