Imogene Limbrey, a Richmond-area resident, has been selected Volunteer of the Month for March at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.
A volunteer since October 2003, Limbrey has become a prized designer of flower arrangements of the Gift Shop.
“She is very talented and is excellent at working on special projects,” wrote one nominator. “Imogene has been known to put in a lot of extra hours when special events are taking place.”
“She never complains; she just jumps right in and gets to work on arranging and decorating,” reports another nomination. “She is very creative, always open to new ideas and usually offering new ideas of her own.”
Retired after 19 years at Bank One in Fountain City, Limbrey volunteers at the Fountain City Wesleyan Church where she serves on the funeral meals committee and is the coordinator for the Golden Years Fellowship.
She is past president of the board at the Senior Center in Fountain City, a former member of the Women’s Auxiliary on the Fountain City Fire Department, and a former volunteer at the Soup Kitchen.
She and Charles, her husband of 54 years, have three daughters, two of whom work at Reid. There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and one grandson is in Iraq.
Limbrey’s hobbies, in addition to volunteering, include floral arranging and decorating for a variety of events.
