Hagerstown volunteer earns February honor
One
of Health Information Management’s most appreciated assets is a Hagerstown-based
retiree who became a Reid Hospital & Health Care Services volunteer in 2006.
“She is always smiling,” wrote one nominator of Barbara Beard. “She is great, wonderful to have around.”
In her post-Dana Corporation life, Beard’s volunteerism also extends to the Perfect Circle Credit Union’s supervisory committee and to the post of financial secretary for both the Nettle Creek Church of the Brethren and the Hagerstown Optimist Girls Softball League.
“Barb always goes above and beyond the call of duty when working for us,” noted a departmental colleague. “She pitches in with anything that needs to be done.”
A member of the Nettle Creek Church of the Brethren and the Altrusa Club of Richmond, Beard also maintains her interest in volleyball and golf.
“It is quite an honor,” Beard said of the award for her volunteerism. “It is very nice to be recognized and appreciated.”
